Despite being the best in Asia, Sri Lanka is uncertain in the World Cup!

The Sri Lankan cricket team won the title by defeating Pakistan in the final of the recently concluded 15th Asia Cup in Dubai on Sunday.
Despite winning the Asia Cup for the sixth time, Sri Lanka is uncertain about playing in the main stage of the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Sri Lanka will have to clear the qualification hurdle to qualify for the World Cup.
Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka said after winning the Asia Cup, “We will get a chance to adapt to the environment before the main competition of the World Cup begins. It will be good for us to play the qualification round. Hope we can keep the rhythm of Asia Cup.”
He also said, “We had to play the qualifying round in the last World Cup as well. This is how the T20 World Cup has been going for three or four years. We have been playing good cricket for the last two years. Winning the Asia Cup before the World Cup will help us and we will be confident”

Incidentally, the Lankans will begin their T20 World Cup mission with a match against Namibia on October 16.
