History in the Asia Cup

All the matches of the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup 2022 in Sylhet will be managed by women. In other words, women will be the umpire-referees in all the matches of this subcontinent’s highest tournament. This is the first time a tournament is being run by women instead of men.
A total of 9 umpires are in charge of this year’s Asia Cup. Among them, there are a maximum of two each from India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. However, there is no Bangladeshi woman umpire on this list.

In addition, Qatar, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates will have one each. One each from Sri Lanka and India will be the match referee.
This year’s Asia Cup started with the Bangladesh-Thailand match on Saturday. This year’s season will be in the league system with the participation of seven teams.

A total of 24 matches will be held. Out of this, 9 matches will be played at Sylhet’s Outer Cricket Stadium. The remaining 15 matches will be held at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The top four teams in the league system will play in the semi-finals. The curtain will come down on October 15 with the finals of the Women’s Asia Cup.
