Pakistan’s legendary cricketer and former captain of the national team, Wasim Akram said this in an exclusive interview given to the Indian media Sports Kida. He said, “My full attention was on sports. I was on the school basketball team, and cricket team and played table tennis. But have always been a backbencher when it comes to studies.”

What would you do if you were not a cricketer? In response to such a question, he said, “If I had not been a cricketer, I would have had a petrol pump in Toronto. What do you know! I don’t know. See, I was very bad as a student. I got a chance in the Pakistan team when I was only 17 years old, back then I was a child. I didn’t know that there could be such a thing as an alternative plan. God helped me.”
