Marketing out is one of the most controversial rules in cricket. If the bowler is run out when the non-striker’s edge leaves the batter’s crease before the bowler completes the bowling action, it is called marketing. Till now this was considered against the spirit of the game. Marketing was no longer unconstitutional under the new rules. Henceforth such outs will be treated as normal runouts. However, the bowlers cannot run out of the ball before entering the delivery stride. If this is the case, the ball will be considered a ‘dead’ ball.
So long ago if the batters crossed themselves before being caught out, the new batter would come in and stand on the non-striker. ICC has also changed that rule. The new batter will now play the next ball.

New batters will now get 2 minutes instead of 3 minutes to come to the wicket in Tests and ODIs. With these changes, ICC has also added some new rules. If the fielders deliberately change places at the start of the bowler’s run, the batting team will be given an extra five runs. Besides, ICC has approved the use of hybrid pitches in men’s and women’s limited over cricket.
