Former England cricketer Julian Ross Wood was in the discussion to become the coach of the Bangladesh team before the T20 World Cup. Known as the power-hitting coach, Julian was the coach of Sylhet Sunrisers in the BPL last time. This time he is the head coach of Chattogram Challengers.

At the pre-match press conference of the Chattogram edition of the BPL on Thursday, he expressed his interest to become the coach of Bangladesh. He said that he has not yet received a formal proposal in this regard from the BCB.
