On the same day, the franchise officially announced Sohan as the captain. Chattogram Challengers will take on Sylhet Strikers on the tournament’s opening day at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Rangpur Riders will take on Comilla Victorians in the evening.

The tournament started on January 6 and will continue till February 16. The champion team of this year’s tournament will get two crores, while the runner-up team will get one crore. Ismail Haider Mallik, member secretary of the BPL Governing Council, said there is a possibility of a cash prize of Tk 10 lakh for the tournament’s best player.
