India’s chairman of the selection committee, Ajit Agarkar, expressed his excitement over the impressive performance of left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav as the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 approaches.

Kuldeep Yadav has been in outstanding form recently, earning the Player of the Series award in the Asia Cup for his nine wickets at an average of 11.44, including a memorable 5/25 against Pakistan.

Since the start of 2023, Kuldeep has taken 31 ODI wickets at an average of 15.51 and eight T20I wickets at an average of 17.62. His last Test appearance resulted in a Player of the Match award for his 8/113 against Bangladesh in December 2022.

Although Kuldeep Yadav is India’s primary spinner for the upcoming World Cup, he has been rested for the first two ODIs in the upcoming series against Australia.

Ajit Agarkar, speaking to the press after announcing the squad for the Australia games, praised Kuldeep Yadav’s unique skill set and acknowledged the positive impact of the team management’s faith and confidence in him.

Agarkar emphasized that Kuldeep Yadav is India’s trump card and a challenging opponent for most teams in various conditions.
