On Monday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the name of the best cricketer of the month of May. Former Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews has been the best among the boys. He became the first Sri Lankan cricketer to win the award. Among the women cricketers, Pakistan’s Tuba Hasan won the award.

Mathews played an innings of 199 in the first innings of the first Test in Chittagong on the tour of Bangladesh last month. And in Dhaka’s second Test of the series, the former Lankan captain played in innings of 145 runs. Mathews was the best of the month with the highest score of 344 runs in the two-Test series.

Pakistan’s Tuba Hasan was adjudged the best among women cricketers in May. He was adjudged the best, beating teammate Bismah Maroof and Trinity Smith for the jersey.

Tuba bowled brilliantly in the T20I series against Sri Lanka in May. The Pakistan leg-spinner was instrumental in whitewashing his opponents in the three-match series. He took 5 wickets for 3.66 runs per over.
