Chandika Hathurasingha has returned as the coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday evening. BCB signed a two-year contract with Hathura; Which will be effective from February 2023. Hathura is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on February 20 to take charge of the second phase.

Hathurasinghe said, “It is an honor for me to get the opportunity to coach the Bangladesh national team once again. When I was there, I loved the hearts of the people there and the culture of the country. I am now looking forward to working with the Bangladeshi cricketers once again and enjoying their success. â€?/p>

Hathurasingha became the coach of Bangladesh in May 2014. During his three years in charge, he brought great success to the Tigers. But his departure was not happy. In 2017, he sent his resignation from the Bangladesh team’s tour of South Africa. He left the responsibility of Bangladesh to become the coach of his country Sri Lanka at a huge salary. However, he did not last long in Sri Lanka. A few months later he was dismissed. This time, Hathura is coming to Bangladesh at a lower salary than before.
