The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Players’ Draft witnessed the inclusion of veteran cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim into the Fortune Barishal squad. The team had the privilege of making the first call during the draft, and they utilized it to secure Mushfiqur Rahim, who was the only player in Category A for local players with a price tag of BDT 8.0 million.

Tamim Iqbal, who joined Barishal from Khulna Tigers, and Mahmudullah Riyad, a retained player, are among the other prominent names in the Fortune Barishal squad.

Rangpur Riders made the first call by roping in Rony Talukdar, followed by the Sylhet Strikers, who recruited Mohammad Mithun. Finally, Mushfiqur Rahim, after two missed opportunities, found his team when Barishal called his name.

The players were divided into six categories, with Category B featuring players like Imrul Kayes, Ebadot Hossain, Rony Talukdar, and Afif Hossain, each with a price tag of BDT 5.0 million.Notable names like Mominul Haque, Mohammad Ashraful, and Sabbir Rahman did not find teams in the draft.
