The umpiring did not bring any complaints in the just-concluded tournament. It has also been reported that the cricketers have been paid. At one time, the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League was riddled with complaints including controversial umpiring and disputes over payment of cricketers’ fees. However, those images have changed over the last two seasons.

It is known that the level of complaints has decreased since Salauddin Chowdhury took charge of CCDM. However, the clubs were uncomfortable with the schedule in this year’s DPL. The cricketers had to face problems while playing in excessive heat. This league had to start in the middle of March instead of February because of field problems. However, there has been an assurance of a schedule change for the next season.

CCDM Chairman Salahuddin Chowdhury said, “We have one regret. That is, the tournament could have been done a little earlier. But due to the schedule, we had to play in March instead of February. We will work on this from the next tournament. Hopefully, this regret will not be there anymore.

There has been a complaint of not giving good quality wickets in DPL for a long time. Now that regret is resolved. The selectors are also satisfied as it is a competitive tournament.

BCB selector Habibul Bashar Sumon said, ‘This year’s Premier League has been very competitive. We had to wait until the last day. I think, this time the condition was a little different. The wicket was very good, which is very good for cricket.’ There were some inconsistencies in the umpiring, but no club filed a written complaint. The cricketers have also understood their remuneration. The head of CCDM also gave a warning message to the club concerned about the disciplinary issue.

CCDM has introduced cash prizes for the best run-scorer and highest wicket-taker from this season. CCDM chairman Salahuddin Chowdhury also said that there is a plan to launch in all the following leagues.
