Protesters from the ‘Just Stop Oil’ movement caused a delay for the England team bus as it made its way to Lord’s for the start of the one-off test match against Ireland on Thursday. England cricketer Jonny Bairstow shared a photo on social media, depicting the presence of protesters and police officers obstructing the road.

Bairstow captioned the photo on Instagram, saying, “If we’re a bit late, it’s not our fault.”

In recent months, ‘Just Stop Oil’ protesters have disrupted various sporting events, including the world snooker championship and the English Premiership rugby final. During the snooker tournament, a protester climbed onto a table and threw a bag of orange powder paint, while during the rugby match between Saracens and Sale at Twickenham, protesters invaded the pitch just 15 minutes into the game.
