Three other players in the Sri Lankan team have been infected with corona ahead of the second Test. In all, the number of victims in the Sri Lankan team stands at five. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka is scheduled to play the second Test against Australia in Galle on Friday.

The players infected with corona are all-rounder Dhananjaya de Silva, pacer Asita Fernando, and spinner Jeffrey Vandersay.

According to a report in Cricinphone, the management tested the entire Sri Lankan team for COVID-19 after learning about the illness. Three people were reported positive on Wednesday.  Star all-rounder Angela Mathews left the field on the third day after being covid-19 positive in the first Test in Galle.

After this, left-arm spinner Praveen Jayawickrama was attacked. However, with Mathews recovering from isolation, there is a possibility of getting him in the second Test.
