In the first Test against hosts Sri Lanka in Galle, Pakistan had a target of 342 runs. On the fifth day of the match, Pakistan reached that target, Babar Azam’s team won by four wickets. This is the record for winning the biggest target chasing in Galle.
Opener Abdulla Shafiq was the biggest contributor to Pakistan’s run chase. He remained unbeaten on 160 off 408 balls. In these innings, he has hit only 6 fours and a six. Pakistan was under pressure after losing 6 wickets for 303 runs. But Shafiq and Mohammad Nawaz put on an unbroken 41-run stand for the seventh wicket. Nawaz remained unbeaten on 19 runs.

Captain Babar Azam, opener Imam-ul-Haq, and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan contributed to the chase. Babar scored 55, Imam’s 35 came from the bat, and Rizwan’s contribution was 40.
