The Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team was defeated by four wickets against their Pakistani counterparts in a one-off Twenty20 series held at the Shaheed Kamaruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi on Wednesday. After being sent to bat, the home team posted a score of 159-5 in 20 overs with a quick-fire knock of 52 runs off 26 balls by opener Jishan Alam.

Chasing a target of 160, the visitors lost the wicket of Shahzaib Khan for a duck in the first over, putting them under pressure. However, opener Shamyl Hussain and captain Saad Baig steadied the innings and formed a 41-run partnership to keep the scoreboard ticking.

On Wednesday, the Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team lost to their Pakistani counterparts by four wickets in the one-off Twenty20 series held at the Shaheed Kamaruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi. Bangladesh, who were put to bat first, scored 159-5 in their 20 overs, with opener Jishan Alam smashing a quick 52 off 26 balls.

However, their opening partner Moinul Islam could only add 19 runs off 29 balls. Chasing 160, Pakistan lost their first wicket in the first over, but opener Shamyl Hussain and captain Saad Baig put on a 41-run partnership. Hussain went on to score a brilliant 67 off 49 balls, while Arafat Minhas’ 41 off just 22 balls helped Pakistan reach 160-6 in 19.1 overs. Iqbal Hossain was the most successful bowler for Bangladesh with figures of 3-23 in his four overs.

Following Jishan’s dismissal in the 10th over, captain Ahrar Amin provided an entertaining innings of 20 runs off 10 balls, while Ariful Islam contributed 30 runs off 25 balls. Unfortunately, their efforts fell short in propelling Bangladesh to a defendable total.
Prior to this, the junior Tigers had faced a 1-4 defeat in the Youth One-Day International (YODI) series against the same opponents.

In the first match of the T20 series on Wednesday (November 16th), the youth of Bangladesh defeated the Pakistan Under-19 team by 5 wickets.

Batting first, the hosts scored 143 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target, Bangladesh reached the target with 3 balls and five wickets in hand.
