There are rumors, ODI captain Tamim Iqbal’s elder brother Nafees Iqbal has been removed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board after the players complained against him. A director of BCB said that some of the cricketers complained that they did not get good treatment from Nafees. Some of them complained to the team director Khaled Mahmud Sujon after returning from the Zimbabwe tour. The board decided to change the manager before the matter went to a controversial stage.

However, Nafees Iqbal dismissed all the allegations as baseless two days after being eliminated. The former opener wrote on his verified Facebook page on Saturday night, ‘The best way to respond to false allegations is laughter. I have faith in Almighty Allah.â€?Nafees said, “I have been in charge for the past one year, I have never had a problem with any of the team’s players or any of the team’s management. During this time our performance was up and down but the atmosphere was very nice.â€?/p>

He already knew that Nafees’ claim was dropped. He was informed of his removal from the post before the last UAE series and claimed to have been sent off with honor. Nafees told the media, “I was informed before the visit to the UAE and it was informed to me with respect. I used to be the Deputy Manager of Cricket Operations, and still am. There is no fixed team manager in the team; it can be called a rotation policy. I respect BCB’s decision.â€?/p>

Nafees said in a tone of despair, “Many times there is much baseless news, if it has to be done then let it be done with proper evidence. Tell me who said it, and then I will know everything. Now maybe an issue has come up. That is why I am not being given responsibility anymore. But I did not raise any question about it.â€?/div>
