Child sexual abuse is almost heard of in Australian cricket. The victims have raised their voices and filed cases on various occasions. Cricket Australia (CA) has finally apologized to the victims of sexual abuse.
Cricket Australia chairman Lachlan Henderson said in a statement on Monday, “For a long time, there has been a terrible problem like child sexual abuse in society and in various sports, including cricket.

We can’t change what happened. However, the victims need to cooperate as much as they can. “On behalf of Cricket Australia, I apologize if anyone has been sexually assaulted while in Australian cricket. â€?/p>

Earlier this year, a former junior cricketer filed a lawsuit against CA (Cricket Australia). She alleged that she was sexually assaulted during the Australia U-19 team’s tour of India and Sri Lanka in 1985. In 2009, former Australian state cricketer Ian King was jailed for torturing a schoolboy.

Ca has recently signed Australia’s National Redress Scheme or National Redress Action Plan to prevent sexual harassment. Children who have been tortured are brought under this scheme and given medical care and counseling as per their needs. Various types of help and assistance are also provided. Cricket Australia has also urged the state associations under it to join the scheme.
