In the opening pair, Anamul Haque and Mohammad Naeem scored 145 runs and laid the foundation for the victory. That path is smooth with the bat of Afif Hossain. Then Zaker Ali, Mosaddek Hossain, and Tanzim Hasan had the last laugh. Abahani won the Dhaka Premier Cricket League title by defeating Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by four wickets with four balls to spare in Tanjim’s final touch. With this, they became champions in the Dhaka League for a record 22nd time.

Sheikh Jamal lost the toss to bat and scored 282 runs for seven wickets in the match which turned into an undeclared final on the final day of the league at the Mirpur Sherebangla Stadium on Saturday. Abahani responded with 285 for six.

Abahani’s two openers Anamul Haque and Mohammad Naeem added 145 runs in 26.2 overs. Naeem scored 68 runs from 79 balls, and Anamul scored 72 runs from 81 balls. Afif, who was left out of the national team, scored 60 runs off 53 balls and left the field to win the team. Zaker Ali (21 from 28 balls), Captain Mosaddek Hossain (22 from 22 balls), and Tanzim Hasan (12 from 7 balls) accompanied Afif.
Earlier, Captain Nurul Hasan scored an unbeaten 89 runs in Sheikh Jamal’s innings. Taibur Rahman also got fifty. He scored 53 runs off 85 balls. Indian all-rounder Parvez Rasul remained unbeaten on 42 off 37 balls and Ziaur Rahman on 29 off 14 balls. Abahani became the champion with 28 points in 16 matches. Sheikh Jamal finished the league with 26 points.

Mohammedan’s Soumya Sarkar scored a century in BKSP. White and black won. In response to Legends of Rupganj’s 298 runs, Mohammedan won with one ball and four wickets in hand. Soumya opened the innings and scored 102 runs off 112 balls. Prime Bank defeated Gazi Group Cricketers by 73 runs in the other match of the day
