The Rajasthan Royals Cricket Cup.” In this season, they are introducing a groundbreaking statewide inter-school girls’ softball tournament set to kick off from September 5, 2023, across seven districts in Rajasthan. This initiative aims to make cricket more inclusive and accessible for talented young female cricketers in the state.

Rajasthan has a wealth of cricketing talent, as evidenced by Aditi Chauhan from Rajasthan winning “Cricket ka Ticket,” India’s most significant cricket talent hunt. Additionally, the introduction of India’s premier T20 women’s league earlier this year has expanded opportunities for female cricketers across the country. With the Rajasthan Royals Cricket Cup focusing on the school level, the franchise seeks to inspire the next generation of girls to embrace the sport and nurture their competitive spirit.

The competition is set to host nearly 700 girls from over 50 schools across seven districts. Notable participating schools include Sanskar School (Jaipur), New Look Senior Secondary School (Bhilwara), Mayoor Chopasni School (Jodhpur), The Umeed School (Jodhpur), Rajmata Krishna Kumari (Jodhpur), Sophia Girls School (Kota), Mount Litera Zee (Udaipur), DPS (Udaipur), and Chatrapati Veer Shivaji School (Bikaner), among others.

Each team will consist of 14 members, competing in 10-over softball matches at various locations. An innovative soft pink ball will be introduced to encourage more girls to start playing the sport. The tournament will commence at the district level in a knockout format, with one school from each district advancing to the Finals in Jaipur at a later date.
