Velocity decided to field before winning the toss in the match held in Pune. Supernovas got off to a great start by batting. Priya Punia and Diandra Dotin put on a 73-run partnership. The pair was broken when Punia returned after scoring 28 off 29 balls.

After that, captain Harmanpreet Kaur became Dotin’s partner. Harmonpreet made 43 runs from 29 balls. Dotin returned to the dressing room after scoring 62 off 44 balls with 4 fours and 1 six. After their departure, the supernova batting broke down.

They lost seven wickets till the end and their innings stopped at 165 runs. Kate Cross took 2 wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs and Deepti Sharma also took 2 wickets for 20 runs in the same number of overs. Simran Bahadur also got two wickets.

Velocity was in danger from the beginning. They lost 4 wickets for 38 runs. Laura Wolvaardt fought alone for the team. He remained unbeaten on 65 off 40 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes. Towards the end, Simran Bahadur also scored 20 runs off 10 balls.
