Sylhet Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Shabiprobi) held the final of the ‘Sports Sust Women’s Cricket Tournament-2023’ organized for women students. Organized for the third time in this tournament, the team Exodus of the Political Studies Department has become the champion. Team Exodus of the Department of Political Studies defeated Team Corporate Crushers of the Department of Business Administration by 5 wickets in the final, held under floodlights at the university’s handball ground on Monday (February 27) night.

Batting at the beginning of the game, the team of the Business Administration Department ‘Corporate Corsairs’ gave a target of 57 runs in the stipulated 10 overs. Chasing down the target, the team ‘Exodus’ of Political Studies won by 5 wickets in just 5.2 overs. Maria Sultana of the Political Studies Department was selected as the best of the match in performance skills. Jannatul Ferdous of the Public Administration Department was selected as the best player in the tournament. The university’s sports organization ‘Sports Sust’ organized the ‘Sports Sust Women’s Cricket Tournament’ for the third time with the students of different departments of Shabiprobi. Time Television was the media partner in this tournament. Before this, the tournament was inaugurated with a rally and cake-cutting on the campus in February at noon. A total of 16 teams participated in the tournament in four groups. Each team had to play a total of three matches in the group stage. Al-Amin, the convenor of the tournament, said, “Through such a tournament on the university campus, boys, as well as girls, will advance in sports and hopefully they will keep their marks of qualification.”
