Wicket-keeper batsman
Born in 1986, David Warner made history as the first Australian in over a century to debut for the national side without playing first-class cricket. He burst onto the scene in 2009 with T20Is and later became one of Australia’s most feared openers. Warner’s career was full of highs — from blazing centuries to match-winning partnerships, including a 178-run knock in the 2015 World Cup and a record 260-run stand with Steve Smith. Though he faced setbacks — notably the 2018 ball-tampering scandal — Warner bounced back with a triple century against Pakistan and led Australia’s batting charge in the 2019 and 2023 World Cups. When he retired in 2024, he left as Australia’s most prolific Test opener.
