1948 – Duncan Fletcher, Mastermind Coach
Duncan Fletcher, born today, transformed England’s fortunes as head coach, taking them from rock bottom in 1999 to one of the world’s best Test sides. Later, he guided India to memorable highs, including a 4-0 sweep over Australia in 2013 and a Champions Trophy win. As a player, Fletcher starred for Zimbabwe, famously scoring 69* and taking 4 for 42 in their shock 1983 World Cup win over Australia.
